Season’s greetings

December 31, 2012
2012 has been a great year for me. We successfully launched our online store, partnered for the first time with boutiques located outside of Lebanon and just recently welcomed a colorful homeware collection.

I say “We” because none of the above would have been possible without your contribution. It was your constant feedback, support and lovely words that built the brand. I can’t thank you enough for making the year so special.

And here’s the best part: we’re just getting started! Expect amazing new designs to come out in 2013: this is just the beginning and I can already tell we’re heading somewhere.

I wish I could give each one of you a big hug. It might be a little bit difficult given that we’re spread out across the planet. My little penguin is sending you one instead.

 Until next time, happy holidays,
& see you in 2013!
Happy new year!

Happy new year!

Studio Tipi

January 19, 2012

I was going through the Monocle magazine yesterday and the illustrations done by Studio Tipi caught my attention. I’m not usually a big fan of clean drawings, but I fell in love with these: the details are so cute. You can check more of their work on their website here.

Ramadaniyat book

August 29, 2011

Kalimat, the first publishing house in the UAE dedicated to publishing children’s books in Arabic has launched a book of activities at the beginning of the month of Ramadan (August). The book, called Ramadaniyat, written by Author Hala Al Turki is divided into 2 sections: DIY activities and cooking. The idea of the book is to entertain children during the month of Ramadan by doing several types of activities. I was contacted by Kalimat in March to do the design and illustrations of the book. I finally received copies last week. Here are some pictures! I am posting some pictures from the book signing event that took place in Dubai on August 11th 2011 and some press release articles.  Thank you Dareen and Lama for that great opportunity! It’s my first children’s book. : ) Y Javi, gracias por las fotos : p

Swell – Illustration Friday

August 14, 2011

My submission for this week’s topic: “swell”. I was inspired by the quote sent along with the theme: “Some days you must learn a great deal. But you should also have days when you allow what is already in you to swell up and touch everything. If you never let that happen, then you just accumulate facts, and they begin to rattle around inside of you.” ~ E.L. Konigsburg. It made me think of a flower absorbing everything it can from the soil. and allowing it to swell up. Enjoy!

Up there through my window

January 6, 2011

This is my view from the kitchen’s terasse every morning in Vigo at 8 a.m (when it’s not raining of course). The sun rises so late!

I look at the moon and I wonder if you’re thinking of me too : ).

Red and blueberries…

November 13, 2010

I present to you my latest pattern. One the followers of my blog asked me to show and explain the process of doing a pattern. Below, you can see the initial drawings. The first thing to do is to draw some elements (4-5). You draw them directly on the computer or by hand then you scan them in. The next step is coloring your items. Choosing a nice color scheme is very important. For me, it’s the part I like most. I love picking a color palette, it really affects the whole design. Choosing the right colors together makes your pattern much stronger and attractive. Once you are satisfied with your colors, you start doing a composition with your elements. I see this pattern on a cushion in a salon.  Enjoy!

El baile de los animales

November 6, 2010

I have been getting so many entries in my blog every day. I would like to thank everyone of you for the support. It means so much to me. A girl called Cecilia from Argentina contacted me recently. I’m so happy I am having constant viewers from different parts in the world. I will try to post more often, so make sure you constantly check my blog : ) . I present to you my latest pattern called: “el baile de los animales” or “animals’ dance”. Enjoy!

Transportation – Illustration Friday

October 11, 2010

The first thing I thought of for this week’s topic is a a vehicle. I didn’t want to draw a machine though, not a plane nor a car… I wanted something more romantic and sensual, I thought of a pregnant woman carrying her child.

1. the act of transporting.
2. the state of being transported.

Beneath – Illustration Friday

October 3, 2010

It rained last night just when I was about to go out, and I didn’t have any umbrella on me. I was thinking what can I possibly hide under. I was inspired by that for this week’s topic “beneath”.
