Season’s greetings

December 31, 2012
2012 has been a great year for me. We successfully launched our online store, partnered for the first time with boutiques located outside of Lebanon and just recently welcomed a colorful homeware collection.

I say “We” because none of the above would have been possible without your contribution. It was your constant feedback, support and lovely words that built the brand. I can’t thank you enough for making the year so special.

And here’s the best part: we’re just getting started! Expect amazing new designs to come out in 2013: this is just the beginning and I can already tell we’re heading somewhere.

I wish I could give each one of you a big hug. It might be a little bit difficult given that we’re spread out across the planet. My little penguin is sending you one instead.

 Until next time, happy holidays,
& see you in 2013!
Happy new year!

Happy new year!

New ‘home’ collection – Just in!

December 18, 2012

I am so excited to share with you my latest ‘home’ collection. It was released this week at Afkart, the Lebanese designers’ exhibition in Biel.

The collection includes: cushions, coasters and tea towels. The fabric is extremely soft and beautiful to touch. I chose 100% organic cotton that was printed in Spain. All the patterns are my drawings of course, drawn in Beirut or Madrid. Sometimes on the plane too : )

Check some of the photos below. For more info, check our website here.

Wedding cards… revealed!

July 10, 2012

The wedding cards are done and are on their way to our friends and family! We have 3 versions: Spanish, English and Arabic. Everything was written, drawn, cut, folded by hand in my tiny little studio in Beirut. Each card is very special. We’ve got a lot of positive feedback so far. The Spanish version is exactly like the english version, hand-written but with spanish letters. Hope you like them! More details revealed soon!

Karim’s Halloween costume

October 31, 2011

Halloween’s parties are finally over. I stayed home on Saturday night so I missed on people’s crazy ideas this year. However, several friends posted pictures of their costumes on facebook. My friend Karim with his giraffe are my favorite! He included pictures of the costume in process. I love the tongue and the little details he did with the painting.

PS: Karim is an illustrator. You can check more of his work on his website: http://www.karimaldahdah.com

Scattered – Illustration Friday

October 18, 2011

My submission for this week’s topic “scattered”. I like the contrast between the repetition of the peers in this pattern and the irregularity of the textured spots. I found a water drop by mistake on the drawing, and I loved the effect. So I randomly added more on the sheet, it diffused and  it did this interesting effect. Enjoy!

Ramadaniyat book

August 29, 2011

Kalimat, the first publishing house in the UAE dedicated to publishing children’s books in Arabic has launched a book of activities at the beginning of the month of Ramadan (August). The book, called Ramadaniyat, written by Author Hala Al Turki is divided into 2 sections: DIY activities and cooking. The idea of the book is to entertain children during the month of Ramadan by doing several types of activities. I was contacted by Kalimat in March to do the design and illustrations of the book. I finally received copies last week. Here are some pictures! I am posting some pictures from the book signing event that took place in Dubai on August 11th 2011 and some press release articles.  Thank you Dareen and Lama for that great opportunity! It’s my first children’s book. : ) Y Javi, gracias por las fotos : p
