Bye bye Vigo!

July 30, 2011

Yesterday was my last day at work! Woohou! Which means, I’m leaving Vigo soon! : ) To celebrate that special day, we went out for drinks with the girls at the office. They did a really special card for me, and my present was a scarf I was dying to get from Bimba & Lola winter’11-12 collection! One of the first scarves I designed : ).  The card is so cute, Jasmine can actually move from Vigo to Beirut! Each one left a small message on the map as a souvenir. So cute, I love it! Thank you Alba!!!!

Sara, my colleague at work and my best friend in Vigo, gave me a really special gift. A print of her first etching. It’s so lovely. I love her so much.

The adventures of Aladina in the country where the sun never shines!

This is not acceptable, I will complain! This never happens in Beirut! Me complaining about every single thing in Vigo! haha

"Tu dices negro, yo digo blanco" is a Spanish song, that we used to laugh about.

Gesture – Illustration Friday

July 17, 2011

My submission for this week’s topic “Gesture”. I drew two squirrels in a bush, falling in love. I love the small flowers in the back.

My animals bracelets made it to the Thyssen!

July 11, 2011

My bracelet collection is finally exposed at the Thyssen shop! I’m so excited. I went yesterday to take some photos. Take a look! I did them in Beirut (the gold plated pendants) and I assembled them in Spain: ) I got all the material with me from Beirut, and I spent some days assembling them in my small studio in Vigo. I did 5 animal motifs: an elephant, a turtle, a turkey, an owl and a hedgehog inspired from the painting: ” Adam and Eve in the garden of eden” by Jan Brueghel, part of the permanent collection painting of the Thyssen Museum in Madrid. I did the braided bracelets from colored threads and attached the animals to them. The pendants are sold individually, and since the bracelet is a braid, it’s easy to hang the pendant anywhere you want. Enjoy!
