Old-fashioned – Illustration Friday

September 26, 2010

For this week’s topic “old-fashioned” I thought of my grandmother’s shelves in the kitchen. It’s so old, yet so lovely. I based my drawing on a picture I took inside her house few weeks ago.

Arab City at the Beirut exhibition center

September 25, 2010

Yesterday, I visited the Beirut exhibtion center for the first time. An exhibtion called: Arab City is taking place from September 22 till October 31 with works from nine contemporary artists from the Arab world.

If it happens you are in Beirut, you should definitely take a look I am posting some of the pictures I took. I loved Hassan Hajjaj’s work, the colors are so bright and the pictures are so nice.

I also loved Chant Avedissian’s work, and especially all the patterns he uses in his illustrations.

Enjoy!

Chanel fashion show – Fall Winter 2010-11

September 2, 2010

I read about the Chanel fashion show at the Grand Palais in Paris in Vogue magazine. Giant icebergs were brought from Scandinavia and put on stage. The models walked between them, while the water was melting on the floor. Click here to see the video. Impressive!
